kennedy space center

Kids had fun today visiting the kennedy space center for their summer camp field trip. I was not paying attention to their arrival schedule. We end up waiting for another 30 minutes which is better than us being late in picking them up. I could have grab something to eat real quick since I was really starving after work. We ended up going to Roadhouse Grill on our way home which is located near our house. Dinner was great. I ate too much I can hardly button up my pants.

three day weekend

No work on Friday which was nice. I don't have to get up early. Of course my body is used to waking up on a certain time so I was awake but did not get up right away. Went to the mall that afternoon. JC Penney had a good sale for girls clothing so I got R some clothes which she really needs. That girl is growing fast. We watched the fireworks at Eula Lake that night and had a nice long walk from where we parked. I was wearing a high healed wedge shoes because I cannot find my flip flops and that hurt my feet real bad and was limping already by the time we walked back to the car. Lots of people were gathered to watched such awesome fireworks.

Saturday, we took the kids to watched Walle. Zach enjoyed it in between his popcorn and sprite. Reina did not like the movie as much as Zach. Then, we stopped by at Fels and I ate mongo beans that she cooked with kalamunggay. We headed to City Walk and walk and walk then watched "orange avenue" a live band playing. We had dinner at Nascar Cafe in time for the Nascar Coke 400 racing in Daytona. We left after 60 laps and walked around again and watched the fireworks at Universal Studio.

Sunday morning, we missed the Sunday mass because B had a migraine. Laid in the dark and gave him the cooling patched for his forehead.Felt better after lunch. We had pizza for lunch. B felt better around 4pm. We went out and got him a softball bat. Went to the batting cage and we had fun batting. R was upset since she did not perform very well as she wanted to. She got over it though. Went to Albertson to do grocery shopping. Got home and B grilled some and we had a nice dinner. Thanks to B for cooking.

It was a nice three day weekend after all...

tgif

As always staying up late and then waking up early in the morning for work. It's friday once again tomorrow so its only four hours of work and I have the rest of the day to do errands. Kids will be in the summer camp so i don't have to pick them up until later. Maybe spend the afternoon at Borders with the kids. I also need to do a little bit of grocery shopping. We're totally out of milk. Hopefully it won't rain...then we can hang out in the village...

rain finally

The rain was pouring hard as I drove to pick up the kids from school. We were planning to eat out at the outdoor pizza place but it rained so we decided to just go straight home. Good thing I already did my errands earlier. We badly need the rain though. As I look at the yard, the grass is not green anymore. According to the weather forecast it is going to rain in the weekend. That means we are all staying indoors. I want to go the international flower festival at disney's epcot and take some good photos but I guess that can wait. We have to go this week because the flower festival will end in June.

Schedule

I mean football schedule this time. It just came out yesterday and found out that Chargers are playing twice in the state of Florida. First, will be in Miami in October and in Tampa in December. B is already planning to attend both and asked me I can go with him. Hmmmm we'll see..I'm sure Z would love to watch the game with his dad.

Errands

So many errands to do today...post office...bank...wm to get more plastic containers and continue organizing the garage...email...z's rel ed...i better start now so that we have plenty of time to do homework...

Surprised

My phone was in the kitchen when it rang while I was comfortably settled in my bedroom at the other side of the house. I did not answer right away knowing that the caller will leave a message anyway and then I can just call back. But it did not stop ringing and ringing and B heard it so he decided to get it and answer it for me. It was so exciting to know that it was my friend whom I haven't seen and talked for the last seven years. She let me guess who she was and I recognized her right away.

Picnic

We are supposed to attend a picnic at SeaWorld on Saturday but Z is having a retreat in preparation for his first communion. There's no way we can see Shamu. Maybe next time. We also want to visit the newly added waterpark Aquatica. I heard some good reviews about it.

Till I Met You

Watched this movie today. It was just alright. I did not enjoy it as much. Thanks Gee for sending it to me and thanks to Cora for bringing it to me straight from the Philippines.

Stars Bigger Than The Sun

Half of the day is spent helping Z doing research about his science project. We've been working on it all week while he is on spring break. I thought the deadline is on Monday and then when I look at the paper again I found out that it's not due until last week of this month. That gives him more time to put all the materials together and display them in the poster board. Good thing he likes astronomy. It also helps me remember what I learned in my science subject in school way back when.

So what stars are bigger than the sun? They are Sirius, Pollux, Arcturus, Rigel, Beteigeuze, Antares, My Cephei and W Cephei. Here's an interesting video.

School Uniform

Dropped by at the swap shop yesterday to get R another set of uniforms. She badly needs one since her old ones does not fit her anymore. My girl is growing. Instead of a jumper and white baby collar shirt, she got the plaid shorts and white collar shirt with the name of the school embroidered. She can wear this for the rest of the school year. By next school year there will be another set of school shirts as uniforms and the ones that we just got will be phase out.

Webkinz

Trying to make some money in the webkinz world and finally found a game that earns some webkinz cash. Funny but me and B were playing this game since last night using the kids account. It's fun and entertaining. The only thing I don't like is when I don't get that much cash in a shorter period of time. Of course what I mean is webkinz cash. Now I'm thinking of adopting a pet and that means I have to buy at one of the store selling webkinz stuff toys and register it online.

Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Since R and Z have different spring break schedules, we cannot really go anywhere far and long. Last Wednesday seemed to be a perfect day to go to Disney's Magic Kingdom. First, kids didn't know that we were going to Disney. Just imagine the surprised look when they saw the road signs heading Disney. As usual, we had a great time. The rides, shows, dazzling parade and spectacular fireworks...always awesome!!! But since it was spring break for some kids, lines were soooooo long and the park was soooooooo crowded.

Field Trip

My fourth grader had a field trip today and its right in front of our house. It's a 20 to 30 minutes drive to her school depending on the traffic which is always heavy when everyone is on the road heading towards work and school. Anyway, I have to drive her to school then after 30 minutes she's back in front where we live for her field trip. Of course she went back to school with the rest of the students when they were done and then I picked her up at the usual dismissal time after picking up Zach. She could have just walk and go home and save me some time in driving back and forth. Oh well, we just find this situation amusing...I have to pick up the big guy anyway so might as well... Speaking of the field trip...she had a great time.

Miami Get-Away

Stayed in the middle of the strip where all the fun within our fingertips. It was not exactly what I pictured at first. It must be the art deco atmosphere blending with the sun and coconut trees along the beach right at the middle of everything…I mean everything…shops, cafes, hotel and the sea. It was actually a good deal for $200 a night, located in the corner of 7th St and Ocean Dr with free breakfast, cocktails and VIP pass to a club of our choice.

During the day time, people with their towels and sunscreens headed to the beach which is just across the street. It's relaxed yet full of energy. At night, it’s a different story. People are dressed up for dining and clubbing. Restaurants are open until the wee hours in the morning. One can party all night until you get so tired from dancing in one of the plush night clubs and settled for an early dawn snacks and call it a night or a day which exactly what we did.

We walked the long stretch streets of Ocean Drive admiring the view of the sand and sea, passing through art deco inspired hotel and cafes, trendy boutiques, art vendors in the sidewalks and of course lots of tourists who speaks different languages from all over the world.

Food was not bad at all. We find it affordable and offers a variety of choices whether it’s italian, american, french or spanish cuisine. The portions were huge so we just ordered for one meal and shared and still we hardly finished all. On top of that candlelit dinner as always very romantic. Or I should say it must be the wine?!?

Some stuff to do while in Miami South Beach:
-Don't forget to bring your sunscreen. Who can refuse the white sandy beach? Spread your beach towel and relax and enjoy the breeze.-Stroll along the streets of Espanola Way, Washington Ave, Lincoln Rd and of course Ocean Drive. You'll find numerous outdoor cafes, affordable shops and experience the art deco feel along the way.-Wine and dine for a romantic candlelit dinner in one of the cafes and dance off the calories afterwards in a club of your choice of music whether it's latin, techno, or r&b music.

We went home refreshed with a sore feet to complain from too much walking. Of course I'll do it again. It was a very nice get-away with my one and only.

Haircut

Got a haircut today. I paid $35. I remember I had my haircut, straightening plus cellophane or wax for only $8 plus $4 tip. Of course that happened when I was in the Philippines. Guess, I won't get a blow dry next time. That would save me 15 bucks instantly.
